I’m a Jesus lover and challah baker who found the joy of prayer.
Join me in the journey of baking bread while building a life of prayer.
Prayer – that’s me! I mean I’m passionate about engaging God in every area of my life.
Prayer is who and what we were created for and it’s our greatest adventure
ever! To share prayer with others is my greatest joy!
I want to shout from any rooftop or mountain-top or to anyone who will listen that prayer is simple, pure, powerful and our greatest calling!

Twelve years ago God interrupted my life and invited me into my kitchen where I discovered the joys of baking bread.
I soon discovered that baking was merely another expression of living prayer! Here I get to share it with others!
Come join me in my prayer room and my kitchen (my second prayer room) as I continue this adventure of prayer, baking and so much more!
Mary Jo Pierce is an accomplished author and public speaker. She served as the Pastor of Prayer & Intercession at Gateway Church in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas for more than 17 years. Mary Jo believes every person can connect with God, and she shares her passion for prayer through teaching, writing, and baking bread. Her books, Let,It Rise, Adventures in Prayer and Follow Me, have unlocked the joy of living prayer for readers across the world.
Mary Jo combines her love of prayer, scriptures, and baking bread in her Acts 2:42 prayer-baking retreats. Taking the principals from Exodus 33:7-18, she artfully connects the Jewish tradition of making challah bread with the rest God promises Moses with His presence. Over 800 have gathered in her home and experienced first-hand the joy of baking bread and the tangible presence and rest of God in the process.
Married to her “Brucie” for 44 years, they make their home in Keller, TX with their two Maltese sisters, Honor and Glory. They have served in the Lord in various ministries in their home and other nations for a combined 90 years! A recently purchased sign for their prayer garden says it all, “And so together, they have built a life they love.” Thanking God every day.
